ABSTRACT

There is a very peculiar role of “Kshar Karma” (an Anushastra), in the management of Arsha, as described by Sushrutacharya.Acharyas have mentioned Kadali as suitable for the Kshara formulation. Patients suffering from AbhyantaraArsha are subjected to KadaliPratisaraneeyaKshar and efficacy ofKadaliKsharPratisaran and inj. Setrol is compared in the management of AbhyantarArsha. In Clinical study an Open randomized controlled clinical trial is conducted of trial group A and control group B for 30 patients in each group. In observations a detailed explanation is given aboutdistribution of patients according to age, sex, occupation. The results of the study are analyzed statistically compared and are presented in tables and graphs form. By highlighting the outcome of the study along with limitations and scope of further improvement it is concluded that KadaliKsharpratisarana gives potent effects in AbhyantarArsha.

ABSTRACT

Behaviour of the dilution characteristics of the coastal waters off Tuticorin is presented in the background of setting up of a desalination plant. Simulations of dispersion and spreading of the proposed discharges has been carried out. Scenarios of dilutions were assessed based on the results of a 2D model using the advection-dispersion theory. It is observed that under prevailing currents in the region, the dispersion of the discharge will be advected away as a combined plume. Ambient conditions are found achieved in close proximity zones within the discharge location and thus there will not be any changes in the water quality in the adjacent coastal waters. Model validation results showed that the values are well in agreement with the observed values. It is suggested that the offshore waters at a distance of 2 Km away from the coastline could be considered as optimum where the environmental impact on the ecosystem due to the disposal operations is considered to be minimum

ABSTRACT

The aim to publish this case report is to emphasize the clinical challenges involved in endodontic treatment of rare dental anomaly like Taurodontism. Endodontic management of a taurodont tooth has been described as complex and challenging. Present case is an attempt to emphasize the challenges an Endodontist encounters while treating Taurodontism affecting the molars of permanent dentition. An enlarged pulp chamber, apical displacement of the pulpal floor, and no constriction at the level of the cementoenamel junction are the characteristic features. Negotiation of the orifices was extremely complicated owing to complex proximity and location of orifices. Low canal orifices and the potential for additional root canal system created difficulty in instrumentation and filling. Treatment required careful exploration of the grooves between all orifices under operating microscope. Canal cleaning and shaping was performed using Protaper rotary instruments and 2.5% sodium hypochlorite ultrasonic irrigation and obturated using a modified filling technique
